Sustainability

Keep the product sound from packhouse to consignee. Waste, temperature and people matter more than a slogan.

Multifreight

Perishable cargo is fruit, fish and meat — not a single commodity

MFR Carga moves refrigerated and general cargo from Chile, Ecuador, Perú and most Latin American origins to markets worldwide. A grape programme, a salmon string and a boxed-meat booking share the same discipline: temperature, documents and a truck that meets the plant.

We are a mid-size forwarder, not a global carrier with a net-zero pledge on this page. What we can stand behind is practical: fuller reefers when the season allows, fewer broken cold chains, and packing that destination food-safety rules will accept.

Three pillars

Environment, people, governance

The same three headings you see on large logistics sites — written for how west-coast perishables actually move.

Environment

Cold chain first

For fruit, fish and meat the largest avoidable cost is product that never reaches the shelf. We plan reefer set-points, ice and dwell so a load stays within the window the importer bought.

People

The line at origin

Packhouse and plant crews in Chile, Ecuador and Perú do the work that keeps a shipment legal and saleable. We treat their time as part of the booking: pickup windows, docs and trucks that actually show up.

Governance

Food-safe files

HACCP packing, temperature records and destination rules sit on the same file as the bill of lading. If a market needs a survey or a residue certificate, it is booked before gate-in — not after a rejection.

At origin

Warehouse, packing, people

Fruit cartons, iced fish boxes and vacuum-packed meat leave different plants. The booking still has to match the product — not a generic “reefer” label.

How we work

Practices we will put on a booking

  • Set-points and ice plans by product — fruit CA, fish flake ice, meat deep-freeze — not one default for every box
  • Full or consolidated reefer loads when the season and the buyer allow, instead of half-empty boxes
  • Pickup windows that match the packhouse or plant, so cargo does not sit on a dock losing hours
  • Survey, phytosanitary or veterinary papers booked before gate-in when the market requires them
  • Digital files first; paper only when the consignee or authority still asks for it
  • General cargo and project freight on the same desks, so a dry booking does not invent a second process
Fruit packed into export cartons

Fruit

Grapes, berries, citrus, bananas and cherries — weekly strings and air when the colour window is short.

Fish packed on ice for export

Fish & seafood

Salmon, whitefish and shellfish in ice or frozen packs. Temperature and dwell are written on the booking, not assumed.

Meat packed for refrigerated export

Meat

Chilled and frozen boxed meat with the veterinary file the destination asks for, plus the reefer or air allotment to match.
